Ten Pieces

Ten Pieces

Ten Pieces is a new initiative for primary schools promoted by the BBC which aims to open up the world of classical music to children and develop children's creativity, confidence and collaborative skills.

Forest Arts is your local Ten Pieces Champion and will be supporting schools to provide inspirational, innovative and exciting ways to explore the Ten Pieces.

Forest Arts will be running workshops and other themed activities with schools to help children develop their creative responses to the pieces through music, dance or digital art. We will also be organising Summer 2015 concerts for partner schools to celebrate the range of creative responses.

Following the screening of the BBC's Ten pieces film on the 8,9 and 10 October at Forest Arts Centre, we will be offering:-

  * Ten Pieces CPD twighlight sessions at Forest Arts suitable for primary teachers - 15 & 22 October, 4pm - 6pm.

  * Multi-arts Ten Pieces Explorer Days at Forest Arts - 3 & 10 November, 9.30am - 2.30pm.

  * A range of school based workshops in dance, dance, animation and film.

  * Celebratory concerts at Forest Arts Centre - Summer2015.
